LEXI CHAMBERS

Living life as an elective amputee for CRPS

Who Is Lexi Chambers?

Lexi Chambers, an Army veteran and former NHS nurse from Exeter, UK, has turned personal adversity into extraordinary achievements. After choosing below-knee amputation in 2019 due to Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), she faced further challenges, including fibromyalgia and nerve issues, leading to over 20 surgeries. Despite this, she became a five-time Guinness World Record holder, inspiring many with her resilience.

In 2024, Lexi wheeled over 1,400 km from John O’Groats to Land’s End in a standard wheelchair, covering a marathon daily for 35 days. This journey raised funds for the Aaron Lewis and Exeter Chiefs Foundations while promoting women’s rugby by carrying a signed ball between clubs. She also set a world record for the longest wheelchair journey on this route, climbing the equivalent of Mt. Everest 1.5 times along the way.

Lexi is deeply inspired by women’s rugby and uses her challenges to support the sport. She has raised significant funds for charities, proving that determination and a positive mindset can turn obstacles into opportunities for growth and inspiration.

2027 Challenge

In March 2027, Lexi Alyx Chambers will undertake her most ambitious challenge yet: wheeling 4,240km across the USA from West to East in 130 days using a standard, non-sport wheelchair. This grueling journey will take her through diverse and demanding terrains, including the intense heat of the Arizona Desert.

This challenge continues Lexi's tradition of pushing her physical and mental limits to support charitable causes. As an Army veteran and former NHS nurse, she aims to raise funds for Team Forces, inspired by the support she has received from military charities.

Beyond fundraising, Lexi seeks to inspire others to believe in their own potential, demonstrating that significant achievements are possible with determination and the resources at hand. Her passion for women's rugby also fuels her endeavours, hoping to draw attention to the incredible athleticism and inspiration found within the sport. Lexi's journey underscores the power of mindset in overcoming perceived limitations and achieving the seemingly impossible.
