2024 Challenge

In 2024, Lexi Chambers undertook an extraordinary challenge, wheeling herself over 1,400 kilometers from John O’Groats to Land’s End in her standard, everyday wheelchair. As a below-knee amputee living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) and fibromyalgia, this journey tested both her physical and mental resilience.

Covering the equivalent of a marathon each day for 35 consecutive days, Lexi took on this immense challenge to raise funds for the Aaron Lewis Foundation and the Exeter Chiefs Foundation. Along the way, she also championed the strength and unity of women’s rugby, carrying a signed rugby ball between clubs on her route.

Her incredible feat not only highlighted her unwavering determination but also set a new world record for the longest distance traveled in a wheelchair from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

Ready for my long journey

The Cause

For the past three years, Lexi has dedicated herself to endurance events, raising vital funds for local charities.

This year's challenge aims to support the Aaron Lewis Foundation and The Exeter Chiefs Foundation, striving to make a significant impact on their meaningful initiatives.

The Rugby Relay

A fervent admirer of rugby and inspired by the determination embedded in the women's game, Lexi will visit rugby clubs along her journey. The Rugby Relay, passing on a signed rugby ball from club to club, will connect grassroots and professional clubs nationwide.

This symbolises the inclusivity ingrained within the rugby family and emphasises the importance of unity and support.

The Challenge Ahead

The sheer magnitude of this challenge cannot be understated. Covering 1,400km in approximately 35 days, Lexi will push herself, wheeling the equivalent of a marathon daily.

This endeavor will showcase unwavering determination, resilience, and the power of the human spirit.

The Route

The route from John o’ Groats to Land’s End is one of the most iconic journeys in the United Kingdom, spanning the entire length of mainland Britain from the northeastern tip of Scotland to the southwestern corner of England.

Covering approximately 874 miles (1,407 kilometers). Lexi will wheel approximately a marathon a day in her every day standard wheelchair for the duration of the challenge

My Next Challenges

2025 Challenge

Lexi is gearing up for her most ambitious event yet—10 ultra marathons in 10 days, a world-first for someone in a standard everyday wheelchair. Her journey will take her from The Stoop in London—the final venue of the last Women’s Rugby World Cup in the UK—to Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, the starting venue for this year’s tournament.

As part of this incredible challenge, Lexi will receive the ‘Race to Rugby World Cup’ whistle from the previous host nation and carry it to the opening game of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup.

In addition to breaking barriers, Lexi is using this opportunity to raise awareness for ChildFund Rugby, a global charity that empowers young people through rugby. As an ambassador, she hopes to shine a light on the incredible work they do to support women’s rugby worldwide.

2027 Challenge

In March 2027, Lexi Alyx Chambers will undertake her most ambitious challenge yet: wheeling 4,240km across the USA from West to East in 130 days using a standard, non-sport wheelchair. This grueling journey will take her through diverse and demanding terrains, including the intense heat of the Arizona Desert.

This challenge continues Lexi's tradition of pushing her physical and mental limits to support charitable causes. As an Army veteran and former NHS nurse, she aims to raise funds for Team Forces, inspired by the support she has received from military charities.

Beyond fundraising, Lexi seeks to inspire others to believe in their own potential, demonstrating that significant achievements are possible with determination and the resources at hand. Her passion for women's rugby also fuels her endeavours, hoping to draw attention to the incredible athleticism and inspiration found within the sport. Lexi's journey underscores the power of mindset in overcoming perceived limitations and achieving the seemingly impossible.
